The Reality of USPSA Competition - Tactiholics™
Check out our first go 'round in a USPSA match, held in Rockford, IL.
In defensive encounters you do not have time to plan and walk through your actions, you just act. Moving past this mindset, I find a lot of value in organized competitions, such as USPSA, as they push your limits as a shooter and provide great opportunity to improve skills that can be applied to any direction of the weapon.
**All of the stages shown were my first attempts; I did not walk through, plan reloads, or target ordering prior to shooting. This keeps the drills closer to reality as it's "processed on the fly".
Gun: Sig 226 TacOps 9mm
Class: Limited
The $20 Devastator: SOG Fasthawk - Tactiholics™
For right around $20 the SOG Fasthawk is one tough bugger! We managed to chop through a variety of objects including cinder blocks, tree limbs, and even bones!
I have carried and used the SOG Fasthawk for quite some time and it has held up incredibly well through an assortment of punishing jobs; see the entertaining ones here!
DIY: Low-Cost Target Stands - Tactiholics™
The all-wooden stands shown in this video can be built for $15 or less per stand. The metal base from TacStrike will be a higher price up front but last much longer than wood.
This video is designed to demonstrate and explain the assembly of a basic target stand.
Remington R51: Hot Or Not? - Tactiholics™
Here it is...the good, the bad, and the ugly. We have had our hands on a number of Remington R51s and, although each shared some positive attributes, they all shared a variety of negative issues.
Watch the whole video for an unbiased opinion on the gun and whether or not it's worth the hype!
This video is not designed to be an instructional video. It is a physical demonstration and review the new Remington R51.
Tac-Con 3MR Trigger in a 5.56...Any Closer To Full Auto? - Tactiholics™
Check. This. Out...Not only did the Tac-Con 3MR shoot like mad in the 9mm Lone Wolf, today we strapped it in to the PWS Diablo 5.56 and held on tight!
This trigger operates off of gas pressure and bolt carrier speed, but we've found almost no difference in it's performance between calibers...regardless of the significant difference between the two rounds.
This video is not designed to be an instructional video. It is a physical demonstration and review of the TacCon 3MR trigger.
Tac-Con 3MR Trigger In 9mm Lone Wolf Pistol - Tactiholics™
The Tac-Con 3MR is great for competition shooters, operators, or anyone looking to produce and maintain a faster rate of fire than traditional semi auto allows! There is a learning curve to the trigger, but if given the time to learn it well it could be a significant advantage.
This is NOT a full auto trigger and there is no paperwork or tax stamp to fill out. Tac-Con sends a copy of the ATF letter stating this with the purchase of their 3MR trigger system. This video is not designed to be an instructional video. It is a physical demonstration and review of the TacCon 3MR trigger.
Seal 1 Lube: A Hot Cleaner Ideal For Cold Weather - Tactiholics™
**The shooting in this video was done in one take showing difficulties of shooting in heavy show...yet the gun had none!**
There is a variety of high end, "single stage" cleaning products out there designed to clean and lubricate your gun in one process. Seal 1 is leading the way on our firearms with it's ability to not only clean incredibly well, but also endure a wide variety of harsh conditions. Where other products of this type gum up in cold weather, Seal 1 Liquid CLP maintains it's original viscosity and keeps your guns running smooth when needed most!
This video is not designed to be an instructional video. It is a physical demonstration and review Seal 1 Liquid CLP gun lube.

.45 ACP: More Girly Than You Think - Tactiholics™
Hitting the range with a viewer to see how well women can handle the .45ACP. There are a fair amount on gun salesmen, boyfriends, husbands, etc. who claim "the .45 has too much 'kick'"...tell that to the steel plates in this video!
This video is not designed to be an instructional video. It is a physical demonstration of a small female effectively shooting and controlling a .45ACP handgun.

Pair this with the Fast Fire III and you've made yourself a mean setup with extreme versatility! Add Speed to Your Reload: Gear4Grunts R.A.M.P. - Tactiholics™
Have a look at a new style of mag pouches for your AR platform...the Rapid Access Magazine Pod, or R.A.M.P. for short. Made from lightweight, highly durable plastic, the RAMPs allow operators to draw magazines in a more comfortable fashion and call for less required movement to be inserted into the weapon.
The RAMP can be attached to any MOLLE system, and functions with both polymer and Mil-Spec mags for either 5.56 or 7.62.
All in all, it's cutting edge design, versatility, and truly rapid access abilities make the Gear4Grunts R.A.M.P. an excellent addition to your kit!

Critical Incident Reloads: Get Back In The Fight! - Tactiholics™
This video is designed to provide step by step instruction of critical incident reloads with a handgun. Let's take a look!
Technique #1: you can see how the hands move independently to remove the old magazine while simultaneously indexing the new mag.
Technique #2: the hands work together to remove the empty mag, positively ensuring the empty mag is clear, before indexing the new mag.
The first technique may save you a very small amount of time, but what's important is finding an efficient way to perform critical incident reloads that is comfortable and smooth for you.
Stress Test: What Can You Handle? - Tactiholics™
Today we are looking at how your ability to function and shoot a handgun can be effected by stress. Shown in this video are two drills which accurately represent the physical side effects of an adrenaline dump - loss of fine motor skills and elevated heart rate.
The ice water test will cause the blood flow to leave your fingers, thereby limiting your ability to feel potentially vital pieces of the firearm such as the mag release and trigger. Also your hands will be slippery, just as sweat would leave them, making fine motor skills even more difficult.
Running and doing pushups will elevate your heart rate, breathing, and create fatigue making presentation of the firearm and maintaining necessary sight picture difficult.
If you're not pushing yourself, you're not improving yourself!
